La Costa Olas: Reviews & Ratings

I only have one experience here and I typically would not be writing a review of a Ft. Lauderdale Beach restaurant unless it was negative, but I am completely impressed by La Costa, Olas. It is described as a "Latin American" Restaurant, being Honduras/Mexican owned (not Cuban). This is NOT a typical Mexican style restaurant either. The menu is much more Central American inspired, with a bit of Mexican staples you could eat for every meal. Not sure if its a chain or a stand alone but definitely has the atmosphere of a small family owned place, in the heart of the FTL action. The beef spare ribs is not a lot of food, but one of the better meals I have ever had, and I have had many at other great restaurants. Their homemade Chimichurri sauce (cilantro, lime, butter, rosemary...) is phenomenal and the thinly sliced ribs were perfectly buttery, garlic appropriate and of course the perfect amount of sauce. I got the potatoes and plantains as my sides and neither disappointed. The potatoes are worth a mention as the texture was perfectly soft but would pick up with a fork stab easily and the perfect simple butter, rosemary and lightly salted which balanced out the powerful taste of the spare ribs garlic and buttery rosemary. It was PERFECT! My wife got somewhat of a sampler platter and WOW it was amazing (well it must have been because she wasn't sharing much...lol Special mention on the amazing black beans and rice. And also the fried pork belly strips OMG!!! There was also skirt steak with chimichurri on there and plantains and other amazing things. Overall All Amazing !!! You have to go there. It was busy so good early or call ahead.

The food was absolutely delicious, and I truly enjoyed every bite. Everything was fresh and full of flavor, which made the experience even better. The server was very kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Service was impressively quick without feeling rushed. On top of that, the prices are very affordable for the quality and portion sizes offered. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and excellent service.

My husband and I came here our first night in Fort Lauderdale and were blown away. It was a reasonable volumn inside to have dinner unlike some of the other restaurants around that are blasting music. It’s a bit off the main path but so worth it. The margaritas were delicious (we got blackberry and strawberry). The food had so much flavor and was scumtipuous. We had reservations somewhere else for our second night and I cancelled them so that we could come here instead again.

Truly my favorite meal I’ve had in awhile. I do not leave reviews, ever, I despise the negative review culture. But for this meal I would like to give a HUGE shout out. Bartender made me my own personal guacamole, my “house” margaritas came out smoking, literally, and the campechano mocajete was the best food I’ve eaten in years. I’ve never had better pork chops and the carne y pollo was also cooked to perfection. I’m in love ans would be back every day if I didn’t still have enough leftovers for the rest of the week

Fabulous find!! We went for dinner…best tacos I’ve ever had!! The food was delicious! The guacamole was made fresh right at the table! Our server was friendly, polite and attentive! Carolina, the owner was a delightful lady! We had a great conversation with her while we were there…visiting from NJ. Highly recommend this wonderful, family owned restaurant with such delicious food!!

Went in for drinks but smelled so good, we stayed for dinner. Everything was great! Drinks were great tasting and not watered down. the food tasted fantastic and the staff were all super friendly, including our waitress whose name I wish i could remember. She helped us pick what we ate and we truly appreciate her suggestions. Atmosphere is great for a date or hanging out with friends.
